Poly B Plumbing is becoming a huge concern insurance industry wide. A good majority of water damage claims are due to the breakdown of the Poly B material usually found in homes built in the late 1980's and 1990's. The breakdown is caused from the chlorine in our water causing the plumbing material to crumble. There are a few insurer's who will not insure homes with this type of plumbing, with more possibly opting out in the near future. Some insurance companies will insure these homes however will include a higher water damage deductible. Insurance companies suggest homeowners remove the poly b plumbing especially under sinks and in laundry room areas.
