Issues which often arise in a home inspection which may cause you trouble #2

Hot Water Tanks - Another topic of conversation in the insurance industry.  Hot Water Tanks now have a life expectancy of no more than 12 years with rupture of the unit expected any time after that.  Some insurers now add a water damage exclusion on policies if the tanks are in need of replacing.  I have attached a useful guide on how to determine the age of a Hot Water Tank by the serial number.  There is also a sticker on the tank that will display the age of the unit.

Home inspection can provide the non-invasive physical examination of the home’s system. It is used to know about the identification of material defects.
